With regret, much grief and sorrow Western
Balochistan has lost another intellectual, teacher, and freedom fighter.
Mr. Abdullah Qaaderi Passed away Yesterday in his
hometown Pahrah(present Iran-shahr) at the age of 83. Abdullah Qaaderi
lived through much turbulent time in Iran and Balochistan, he Survived
Savak's(Shah's secret police) poisoning and imprisonment as well as
present government's imprisonment, He refused to leave mother land and
live abroad, he was determined to live in Balochistan and die in
Balochistan he was so adamant about Baloch political, social. Economical
and cultural rights that he would not back away from Baloch demands an
inch; he was an inspiration to all of us to keep our Balochi language,
culture, history alive in good or bad time.
He was born in an educated family by Balochistan
100 years ago standards in 1302(1923), where his father was a mullah, his
grand father and his great grand father were mullah as well, He grew up in
Tehran where his father sent him to study at the age of 10 or 12.
He was the first Baloch in Western Balochistan to
obtain a bachelors degree from Tehran 's Danesh-sarai Aali in 1944-45
majoring in English language. Weather he was the first under graduate
Baloch to graduate from university or second is debatable as some believe
Mr. Rahim Bakh-sh Rahimi was the first one to obtain a bachelors degree in
entire Balochistan however this debate is not important.
Mr. Abdullah Qaaderi went on to struggle to
create schools in Pahrah(present Iran-shar), Chahbahar and Zahedan to
educate Baloch children, he fought Shah's government to improve Baloch
education and improve Baloch life in western Balochistan.
Mr. Abdullah Qaaderi was Iran 's swimming
champion in 1941 and second runner up in 1942 despite a dislocated
Achilles heel. More details will be published about his struggle for
Baloch cause in near future that would include his political life; he
fights with Iranian governments for Baloch rights and much more in Baloch
personalities section of some Balochi websites.
He will be resting in peace as Baloch children
will continue his legacy.
