distributed on a vast territory, mainly in Pakistan and in Iran, like in
Afghanistan and in the Arab Emirates. Their music is remarkable by his
originality and its professionalism. It can get along like a synthesis of
Indian elements and Iranian carrying the mark of esthetics Tzigane,
particularly significant in the play of the vièle sorud, instrument of
predilection of the musicians Baloch, always accompanied by the rhythmic
bumblebee provided by the large lute tanburag.
The music plays an
important part at the time of the festivals of weddings and circumcision,
which are social and cultural events important. The most eminent kind of
the professional music is the shervandi, the art of the bard-poets. Less
erudite but not less attractive, is the music of fright called guâti
damâli (or qalandari), central element of a therapeutic ritual which
integrates elements chamanic into traditions of the popular Sufism. Its
melodies are of simple structure, but learnedly decorated, inspired of the
litanies soufies (zekr) and the invocations of the saints.
